So a substantial percentage of the electorate has decided it’s had enough of illegals after decades of benefitting from their cheap labour. They’ve replaced their roofs, mown their lawns, picked their fruits and vegetables, but damn if they couldn’t just do their jobs quietly and slink back across the border, eh?
Congress has proposed increasing border security and handing out prison sentences to people who defy the new rules thereby expanding the prison industry. In what maniacally perverse universe is it a good idea for the U.S. to add an int’l prisoner population to its appallingly huge domestic one? This is nothing less than a total condemnation of U.S. trade policies which is where Congress should be focussing its attention.
