Blair is still Bush’s poodle

Matt Barganier links to Helena Cobban’s criticism of the U.S. antiwar movement for being, in her view, disorganised under the umbrellas of ANSWER and United for Peace & Justice. Not only does she zero in on past and ongoing conflicts between the two groups but she feels that both are too obviously left to ever be effective. She then suggests an appeal to UK’s Stop the War “for permission to form a fraternal branch of their organization here.”

As much as I admire Stop the War and Helena Cobban’s thoughtfull take on the subject, last time I checked UK soldiers were still in Iraq and Tony Blair was still attached to Bush’s hip, so I’m not seeing how STW’s admirable efforts have been anymore effective than those of the antiwar movement here in the U.S..
