Roger Waters fans may hear streaming versions of “To Kill The Child” and “Leaving Beirut” on Waters website, www.roger-waters.com. Original artwork and lyrics for the songs may be found on the website in addition to Real Audio, QuickTime, and Windows Media stream links to the songs.
According to Waters, he began work on his new songs “…immediately after the invasion of Iraq, which is now fifteen months ago. It seems apposite to throw them out there on the Net, before the election. Historically, there have always been people within the artistic community who have spoken out about things they believe in and they should continue to do so. I shall certainly continue to do so, whether it has any effect or not, because I feel I have a responsibility to myself to do that.”
Radiohead has built an internet tv. If you’ve upgraded to SP2 you’ll need to allow the pop-up for it to play.

“Your media doesn’t bother much with international news, does it. Ah well, there’s always the internet.”
Greetings, Diane;
Thanks for the link-over. There weren’t too many things in either documentary I wasn’t already aware of, but it was pretty intense seeing all that crooked stuff crammed together like that.
I’m still just so galled by all of this. I listen to what’s coming out of the White House (etc.) and the lies are so transparent it’s almost as if they’re doing it on purpose just to see how stupid the American people really are…but they’re still getting away with it. I know that a lot more of us see through this bull than what Brokaw and Rather would have us believe, but the fact that so many people are so willing to just sit and be lied to…it really is an education on how Hitler was able to do it to Germany. It’s actually frightening that we, as a people, are so willingly gullible.
Thanks again, and peace, my friend.
Crap, I put this on the wrong post. My apologies.

Hi R.G.,
At this point I’m hesitant to place a lion’s share of blame in the gullibility camp. The most powerfull sect of Bushies are the people who consider Ollie North a hero. It’s their partisanship and (surprise!) revealed inability to conceive life without daddy gov’t taking care of them that has led to their conscious decision to pass off obvious and deliberate deceptions as truth.
How embarrassing for them. How dangerous for the rest of us.
They have to believe there’s a difference in the parties and one of them is all good or they’re lost. Waaa.
What galls me the most are the number of Americans who feel so entitled to take the lives of people in other countries they don’t even require a valid reason to excuse it. It doesn’t matter if they’re women, children, old men, or old allies; they are all lesser beings.
And they wonder why they hate us. They do.
You’re right. I saw something tonight that succeeded in sickening me. Sundance has started airing one hour, nightly, of Air America’s Al Franken Show. Tonight, Al was speaking to a college kid via phone or videophone, and the kid was saying that he feels America not only can but should go around the world killing whoever we think might be a threat to us.
His ignorance was displayed in the way he kept using France as a scapegoat; but his absolute disregard for human life is beyond vulgar. It’s amazing that these people consider themselves morally superior; they’re soulless.
There’s an interesting article I linked to a few days ago talking about how George & Co. have masterfully co-opted nationalism in order to gather up the children in support of imperialism.

Soulless, no doubt.
