The Washington Times reported yesterday that Adnan El Shukrijumah is a ‘key’ North American al Qaeda terrorist who went to Hamilton, Canada and posed as a student at McMaster University in order to gain access to its 5-megawatt research reactor and steal its radioactive materials.
The Times never specified who gave them this information but went on to cite this:
El Shukrijumah was identified by the informant after his photograph was made public by the FBI in March. He is believed to be part of an al Qaeda cell in Canada and the United States that was planning a dirty-bomb attack. The status of the bomb plot is not known.
Not only are the officials at McMaster University denying this report, I happened to catch an interview of someone from Canada’s CSIS on Newsworld International this morning who stated that Canada has been the target of U.S. propaganda campaigns for some time and that the FBI would not confirm this story to him.
