People’s Justice: We Will Not Be Silenced

People’s Justice

PEOPLE’S JUSTICE is a cross-cultural collective of activists, organizers and community members working to end the police brutality epidemic in NYC.

The NYPD’s murder of Sean Bell and attempted murders of Trent Benefield and Joseph Guzman are NOT isolated or random events. They represent the systematic targeting of communities of color and the lack of accountability for police misconduct and abuse. A Grand Jury is being convened for a possible indictment against the cops involved in the shootings.

The day AFTER the grand jury decision, come to Union Square, in Manhattan, to show that we WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED.

If the day after is a weekday, be there at 5:00pm – if it is a weekend, be there at 12 noon!

OUR DEMANDS:
-Immediate indictment of Michael Oliver and all cops involved for murder and attempted murder

-Fire New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly and Cheif Anthony J. Izzo and make the Police Commissioner an elected position

-Community Control of the NYPD

-Independent Investigation of past police killings

-End to militarized anti-crime programs and tasks forces

-Independent Prosecutor of police brutality and killings
