Following our joint efforts, an article with some information about the Al Khatib family was published on the Ynet, one of the most popular in Israel internet newspapers. Please read my reservations below!

DESPITE THIS FACT, YOUR IMMEDIATE CONTRIBUTION IS STILL CRUCIAL TO PROVIDE THE AL KHATIB FAMILY WITH URGENTLY NEEDED MEDICAL AND HUMANITARIAN AID! On the second week of June we plan a huge joint humanitarian mission in the vicinity of the family’s home: planting olive trees, etc. Please come to help us and document the event!!!

Unfortunately (and although I appreciate very much Anat Shalev’s efforts!), the article is written in a too restrained tone vis-à-vis the gravity of humanitarian sufferings the family is subject to Therefore, I should make a few reservations:

First, the family’s story is NOT Kafka’s story, IT IS A RACIST, FASCIST STORY. It is one of the small stories describing the PURPOSEFUL policy launched by the Israeli authorities to expel the Palestinian population from the unlawfully annexed territories in the Eastern Jerusalem.

Second, it is not the family’s words that the Jerusalem municipality demanded them to cease holding animals and to destroy all the constructed yards, where the animals were held. I have pictures of those OFFICIAL ORDERS! And I have pictures taken on May 2nd of these nice animals.

Finally, the Military-Civil Coordination Authority, like all other Israeli authorities, does nothing to help these victims of the apartheid wall. They did not provide them with Jerusalem “bleu ID’s,” neither with any urgently needed medical or humanitarian aid. Instead they only continue aggravating the already heavy suffering of the Al Khatib family through further means of prosecution.

These reservations notwithstanding, the fact is noteworthy that this story, although heavily biased, comes off the press. I only hope, it is a first robin in our campaign to expose the racist core of the Israeli occupation capitalist regime.
