Voting 220 to 195, House Republicans pushed through their ethics change, effectively guaranteeing no GOP lowlife on their watch will ever face inquiry, by God, so long as they can strongarm members of their party from voting for an investigation.

According to Rep. David Dreier, chairman of the Rules Committee, “This change restores the presumption of innocence in our process.

Bosh!

Mr. Bill, on a day of swearing in newly-elected members of Congress, stained it with this threat:

“Dr. Frist said he would no longer allow Democrats to filibuster any of President Bush’s judicial nominees. He said he chose not to follow recommendations to immediately move to change the rules to bar filibusters, saying he wanted to give Democrats the opportunity to show “self-restraint” on judicial nominations.”
