Where do men get off thinking they have any business making abortion law?

If they’re anti-abortion, well they know what to do. Don’t have sex, use protection, the things they tell women they should have done.

But the decision to outlaw abortion is not theirs to make. They can’t use the excuse, well it’s my baby, too. After all, according to most of them, women should be mind readers and fortune tellers who know that a man doesn’t/won’t really want them or their child, and if you didn’t abstain or use protection, tough luck. You’re stuck because you’re an idiot. Well, how about this. If you are a man who was so stupid you didn’t see it coming, tough luck, you’re too ignorant to be making life and death decisions.

NARAL should select a representative committee, as should the pro-lifers, and they should be sequestered in a room and not allowed to come out until they reach an agreement on this issue that the rest of the nation will agree to live with so we can all finally shut-up about it and get on to pressing matters like feeding and sheltering the children in our country who are starving for this attention.

No males allowed.

Women can’t be mind readers and *know for certain* whether a man will want them and their child but things like having kids in the context of marriage and otherwise using protection seem to help (yes I am perfectly well aware that not all marriages work out). If he’s willing to marry you it’s a better indicator that he’ll be up for taking care of your kids than otherwise . Women are hardly “victims” here.

    Hi js,

While marriage brings infinite scenarios to ponder, the intent to deceive never renders the deceiver to be more valid, or entitled to more rights than the victim in the aftermath.
