(from my e-mail)
The tragedy of Sudan continues amidst international inaction. A National Day of Conscience has been called for Wednesday August 25th, and it offers us a chance to ask ourselves what God is calling us to do in the face of this terrible extermination of human beings.
With wonderful generosity, FaithfulAmerica.org members donated almost half the budget necessary to send a camera crew of 3 people to the Sudanese border, to broadcast live and bring the heart-rending stories of genocide survivors into American homes. The crew has now reached the camps, and is ready to broadcast live via webcast at 9AM Eastern Standard Time on August 25th. We will begin our Day of Conscience together, listening to the people of Darfur.

If you are moved to act, consider joining in a national day of fasting on the 25th. Fasting is a poignant and powerful action of solidarity with the suffering. From sunrise to sunset on the 25th, you will commit to go without solid foods. Your commitment will be recorded as a point of light on an electronic map of the United States, with your name attached to it. Click below to sign up for the day of fasting:

Time is running out for the people of Darfur. To help them, we must keep hope alive, and act now.
With hope,
The FaithfulAmerica.org Team
