A Pulse of Desperation

Anthony Gregory is betting even money that a Bush win will lead to a Clinton victory in 2008. I’d take that bet. Americans still pining for Bill and eager to transfer that adoration to his wife should be nursing a hangover by then.

But what do I know? We’re analysing a nation of people who have allowed the sloppiest of bungling criminals to continually lie to them and get away with it. We’re not talking about an exceptionally bright, compassionate and just, or ethically driven people here in America. And we’ve sunk to an incredible low.

Could Gregory have the only good reason to vote this November? He writes:

“If Kerry wins, some conservatives and the more principled leftists (yes, there are some) will continue to oppose the War on Terror, and the less principled conservatives will snap out of their four-year daze and see the insanity of what’s going on.”

Does that possibility exist? Is there reason to hope that those who railed against Clinton and his interventions in Iraq and Yugoslavia would once again find their voice and the Constitution?

Are you sensing my desperation? Cobb and LaMarche are telling voters to go with Kerry. Badnarik is insane. He wants to confine lifers to bed so their muscles will atrophy and won’t be a danger to their prison guards. Nader is nearly as crazy. The man had no chance of winning and lowered himself to accept the help of people who live to limit the rights of their fellow citizens. He did so without a word of criticism for them or their disgusting groups.

As for Kucinich
