Ireland to protest Bush visit in massive numbers

Ireland’s antiwar movement is promising massive demonstrations of Bush’s planned visit to Ireland on June 25, 26.

Unlike this weekend’s protests which are not expected to draw the number of participants witnessed during last year’s antiwar demos, anti-war groups are promising to bring Ireland to a halt when Bush visits there in June.

Last night, while waiting for C-Span’s coverage of a Kerry rally that never transmitted due to technical difficulties, I viewed a session of Ireland’s Parliament during which its prime minister was dealt a brilliant and blistering round of questions concerning Bush’s visit. Among those that were never entirely answered was the charge that antiwar demonstrators will be impeded by authorities.

You may want to add some links to your favourites as this is certainly a story in the making.

If C-Span archived the session I viewed last night I can’t find it. It should be required viewing for US legislators and the American public.
