Case Dropped Against Katharine Gun

Excerpt:

During a brief court hearing on Wednesday, Gun, a former Mandarin translator with Britain’s Government Communications Headquarters, pleaded innocent to the charge. The prosecution then dropped the case, but gave no explanation.

“There is no longer sufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction,” prosecutor Mark Ellison told the judge at the Old Bailey criminal court. “It would not be appropriate for me to go into the reasons behind that.”

Judge Michael Hyam ordered that a verdict of not guilty be recorded.

The U.S. and British governments have declined to comment on the allegations, saying they never discusses intelligence matters.

Typo [discusses?] aside, rarely have I seen so honest an admission attributed to either govt.
