Far right or too far gone?

News Hounds, a liberal website that fact checks the far right FOX News, notes that during the 19 March 2008 broadcast of his show, Hannity and Colmes, pundit Sean Hannity denied his past association with white supremacist Hal Turner.

Max Blumenthal reported [Hannity’s Soul-Mate of Hate, The Nation, 3 June 2005] that for years, Hal Turner, a prominent activist in New Jersey’s Republican party, was a frequent caller to Sean Hannity’s radio show using the widely recognised moniker, “Hal from North Bergen.” Hannity also contacted Turner off-air after a listener e-mailed Hannity to inform him that Turner had posted online about his cocaine abuse and homosexual trysts.

Former Representative of Florida’s 1st district Joe Scarborough, currently the Hannity of MSNBC News, initially defended Michael Griffin, avowed Christian terrorist and confessed murderer of abortion doctor David Gunn, the first execution of its kind to be carried out in the United States:

Scarborough wished to represent Christian terrorist Michael F. Griffin, later convicted of killing abortion doctor David Gunn. At the request of Griffin’s family, Scarborough (who is pro-life) initially represented Griffin pro bono in the capital murder case. The judge refused his request to defend Griffin during the criminal trial, citing the gross inexperience of Scarborough, a civil lawyer, regarding criminal law; having only represented 3 misdemeanors. Scarborough assisted Griffin in obtaining a trial attorney.[4]

To what lengths will Hannity and Scarborough go for fame and/or convictions? Right over the edge, apparently.
