Walter Karp: Liberty Under Siege

Liberty Under Siege, originally published in 1988, is a jaw-dropping, meticulously detailed expose of American politics during the years 1976-1988 that provides a timely introduction to the inner machinations of political assassination.

Karp delivers the goods on public figures still pulling strings behind the curtain such as Zbigniew Brzezinski and Richard Perle and historical puppet masters such as Henry “Scoop” Jackson, Tip O’Neill and Robert Byrd. The alleged party greats, Jackson, O’Neill and Byrd, directed underlings in the destruction of Jimmy Carter – the first president elected solely by the people – and the sell-out to big business and to neoconservatives of the people who elected him.

Liberty Under Siege makes it impossible to not laugh uproariously or wretch involuntarily whenever MSNBC pundit Chris Matthews declares he’s just a regular guy from Philly or gets misty-eyed over his days serving as Tip O’Neill’s aide, as if he and O’Neill are de rigeur champions of the people. He’s a detestable, lying lout or a glaringly gullible, corruptible stooge.

Karp’s book can be purchased for less than 5 dollars (shipping included) from Amazon merchants. Anyone looking for an exhilarating wake-up would be better served buying it than a triple espresso anything.
