Israeli opposition reveals details of Israeli attack on Syria

During a press conference this morning, President Bush refused to answer questions related to Israel’s attack on Syria two weeks ago. Netanyahu doesn’t mind talking.

GAZA, Sept 20 (KUNA) — Israeli opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed on Thursday that an Israeli operation took place in Syria two weeks ago and said he was notified of it as it started.

Netanyahu told Israeli television that he was “briefed on Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s decision to carry out an operation in Syria, gave him his backing, and congratulated him.” The Israeli radio said this morning that Netanyahu did not give any more details on the attack and that the Israeli authorities refused till this moment to comment on the air-strike on Syria.

Political and Defense officials reacted with fury to Netanyahu’s conformation of the attack and accused him of being irresponsible, the radio added.

These accusations made Netanyahu cancel two radio interviews scheduled for this morning.
