Kenneth Foster Jr. is no model citizen. But he doesn’t deserve to die.
If the state’s “law of parties” statute does not permit the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles and Gov. Rick Perry to realize that, the law is subject to Charles Dickens’ characterization in Oliver Twist:
“‘If the law supposes that,’ said Mr. Bumble, … ‘the law is a ass — a idiot.'”
I knew Kenneth way back in the day. I was also class on ’95 from Marshall and I met his grandfather once. I lived in the Timberhill subdivision and we had many friends in common. I would hang out with Kenneth, Kenon , and Keith. Many people looked up to Kenneth because he is motivated and he stayed in school, continued his education and started his business. It is truly sad the way the state has treated him. My prayers are with Kenneth and his family. I am holding on to hope.
