Gaza, August 20 (QNA) – Another round of Israeli airstrikes on Gaza Strip has killed three people, raising the death toll to 16 in two days of attacks. The latest strike late on Friday hit a civilian car killing three people from the same family including a 5-year-old boy and a doctor, Gaza medical official Adham Abu Salmiya said, adding that three others were wounded.
The Israeli airstrikes began on Thursday, shortly after eight Israelis were killed near the Red Sea resort town of Eilat. Dozens of Palestinians have also been injured in the attacks. Israel vowed a “full force” response targeting Gaza.
It said the attackers had infiltrated from the Hamas-run Gaza Strip. On Friday evening, Hamas armed wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, called off a ceasefire with Israel and urged factions in Gaza to respond to Israeli attacks, Al-Aqsa Radio reported.
“There can be no truce with the Israeli occupation while it commits massacres against the Palestinian people without justification,” a representative of the militant group was quoted as saying.
