“IDF kills Sudanese who attempted to infiltrate from Egypt”

It was recently revealed that Israel is currently jailing at least 230 Sudanese refugees, some have been incarcerated for at least a year, most of whom, it appears, fled Egypt in fear of death, imprisonment, or deportation. It was reported that Israel is negotiating with the UN to find a third country host for the refugees, as Israel considers Sudan to be “an enemy state.” Yesterday, Ha’aretz headlined news that the IDF killed a Sudanese refugee by saying he attempted to “infiltrate” Israel from Egypt. Does this mean that debate on whether Israel should give aid and comfort to these refugees is over, or over only for the unfortunates killed by the shoot first, manufacture an excuse later, IDF?

Will the Save Darfur coalition finally take a position on this? A group that says it was inspired by the words of Elie Wiesel on the suffering of Darfurians, “How can I hope to move people from indifference if I remain indifferent to the plight of others? I cannot stand idly by or all my endeavors will be unworthy,” surely won’t remain silent.
