Waters accused of criminal damage
Right-wing activists Baruch Marzel and Itamar Ben-Gvir petitioned the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court on Friday to detain legendary British rock musician Roger Waters before he left Israel.
The two submitted a criminal accusation against Waters in which they claimed that the former Pink Floyd front man, had destroyed land and ruined IDF property when he spray-painted the separation fence adjacent to Bethlehem.
Roger Waters Scores Peaceful Triumph
Beirut, Jun 23 (Prensa Latina) Roger Waters, ex bass player of the famous band Pink Floyd scored a personal triumph in his peaceful crusade calling for the demolition of the wall, built by Israelis against Palestinians, during his concert in Jerusalem.
“This generation is capable to demolish the wall,” said the singer to the over 50,000 spectators applauding him while he sang his classical theme “Another Brick in the Wall”.
The unique concert was held in a field neighboring Neve Shalom, a territory located at north Jerusalem where Jews live together with Christian Arabs and Muslims.
The presentation was peacefully carried out although it caused some traffic jams and 31 faints due to the heat.
Waters visited the criticized wall known by Palestinians as the “Apartheid Wall”.
