Mona Charen’s appearance on C-Span‘s 25 Years Viewer Call-Ins was the only bit of the 25-hour marathon I saw this weekend. It was so revolting I ignored the rest.
It’s abhorrent that the collective squibs in Congress aren’t pursuing a Bush/Cheney investigation/impeachment and because they are not, good soldiers-in-media like Miss Mona are allowed to dribble out the latest talking points buffeted by verbal fondling suggesting a moral delinquent is actually a credible compass.
Who are these people? Conspirators in the deceiving of America in order to pursue an illegal war who now cheerlead a brutal occupation; allowed to insist upon “staying the course” in Iraq without defining the specifics of that course. Why do they have any credibility, in fact, more credibility than people who predicted this war’s outcome?
Because Americans are the dumbest people on the planet!
Entifadh Qanbar was invited to C-Span to explain to Americans why they should “stay the course” in Iraq and not once did the fawning host question him about the infamous memo he presented to the United States Congress on behalf of his boss, Ahmad Chalabi. Why not?
As someone who has long watched and enjoyed C-SPAN, I’ve hated most of their 25th anniversary stuff. Yes, the channel has aired a lot of greta material but when you get right down to it, they are stuck in the mold if someone important says it, it must be at least worth considering.
