Tracinski! That’s that goddam f-wad from the “ayn rand institute”, a racist, brainless Peikoff droid of the worst variety, paid handsomely to wipe his snotty nose around college campuses like some sort of crusader for the oligarchies of last century’s fittest. Read that dipshit on the Israeli-Arab conflict sometime to see some really revolting puke. For years I’ve been trying to limit the scope of my blog reading in the hopes of never coming in contact with it again. Argh.
I ran across this guy and his ilk through the campus randroids a long time ago – I mean, I thought the goddam Fountainhead was OK and I’ve always been down with libertarianism one way or the other but the monorail those guys tried to sell me sent me into hysterics, I was like, you guys think this is libertarianism? “Microsoft is fucking almighty capitalism’s gift to mankind!” “After we bronze Bill Gates we have a moral responsibility to nuke Iran!” “Islam is the worship of death!” Shrieking ‘moral relativism’ and ‘multiculturalism’ at any strangers among them like goddam podpeople. Not since I left the Catholic church, or before really, have I felt so surrounded by cult fanatics. I don’t know how that ARI place does it but those kids must have been brainwashed or something, to sit around and defend limited liability corporations as the pinnacle of laissez-faire, free market economics. Truly astonishing.
I wouldn’t have known Tracinski from any other Ayndroid but for the play his retread of racism 101 is getting around the net. I know jack about political theory and less about philosophy despite speed reading on the various subjects for a few years now, including libertarianism, which I didn’t know existed before 2002. I think it’s a real pity libertarianism is being vilified by prominent liberals in the press lately since CATO does not a philosophy make. It’s astonishing to me as well how dumb they are on the subject of free trade as opposed to “free trade” in a corporate capitalist sense. It’s as vile as watching libs flip their lids about China wanting to buy a second tier oil company. They want people free enough to produce cheap goods for them, damn it, and not a speck more. And be gratefull for it.
As for Ayn Rand I enjoyed Fountainhead when I was 12. Everytime I see an Amish lady in the local marts shopping for various sundries they can’t produce it reminds me of Ayn. Vestal virgins with big tummies. But at least the Amish aren’t angry and bitter though I don’t know why not considering what they’re made to wear.
