{"id":972,"date":"2005-07-16T14:32:16","date_gmt":"2005-07-16T18:32:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/karmalised.com\/wordpress\/?p=972"},"modified":"2005-07-16T14:32:16","modified_gmt":"2005-07-16T18:32:16","slug":"i-know-i-am-but-what-are-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/karmalised.com\/?p=972","title":{"rendered":"I know I am but what are you?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dean Barnett <a href=\"http:\/\/dbsoxblog.blogspot.com\/2005_07_01_dbsoxblog_archive.html#112145971262482039\">loves<\/a> his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weeklystandard.com\/Content\/Public\/Articles\/000\/000\/005\/823tdfin.asp?pg=1\">piece<\/a> appearing in the neoconservative echo chamber <em>Weekly Standard<\/em>, in which he ponders why blogs on the right, including Instapundit, have not recouped a post-election slide in daily visits while the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailykos.com\">Daily Kos<\/a> has &#8220;rebounded&#8221; and &#8220;left&#8221; the &#8220;right-blogosphere in the dust&#8221;.  He tells the &#8220;Kossacks&#8221; at DK the <em>Weekly Standard<\/em>&#8216;s recurring interest in their trivial popularity is not bourne from fear and foretells election-day ruin for the Democrat party if they adopt DK denizens&#8217; &#8220;food fight&#8221; mentality.  <\/p>\n<p>One of Barnett&#8217;s theories for this disparity is that &#8220;conservative blogs remain for the most part virtual op-ed columns (with the notable exception of Charles Johnson&#8217;s Little Green Footballs)&#8221;.  When some of Johnson&#8217;s &#8220;Electoral-Based&#8221; regulars took offense to this comparison to the clearly out-of-touch DK&#8217;ers, Barnett rushed there and posted a <a href=\"http:\/\/littlegreenfootballs.com\/weblog\/?entry=16666#c0078\">sickeningly sweet mash note<\/a>, coquettishly benighting the place a &#8220;national treasure&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Gag me with a spoon, <a href=\"http:\/\/freemanlc.blogspot.com\/2005\/07\/republicans-are-commie-pinkos.html\">Comrade<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>Barnett is right about one thing.
