Scheuer has impressive skills for collecting information and imparts it precisely.  If you questioned his patriotism when this book was published you couldn&#8217;t have read it.  His blood spills red, white, and blue onto the pages. Those who continue to vilify Scheuer for being nothing more than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csmonitor.com\/2004\/1112\/p02s02-usfp.html\">a critic of Dear Leader<\/a> are self-serving and absurd and so is his recent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/search?hl=en&#038;lr=&#038;q=Michael+Scheuer+A+Fine+Rendition+&#038;btnG=Search\">defence of rendition<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>I mention <em>Imperial Hubris<\/em> because Juan Cole&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.juancole.com\/2005\/03\/hariri-and-al-qaeda-really-i-dont-have.html\">comment<\/a> that &#8220;a radical anti-Saudi hit on Hariri is perfectly plausible and also cannot simply be dismissed&#8221; would not seem fantastic at all if Scheuer had been given the forum <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsdesk.org\/archives\/000157.php\">he still seeks<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Late to the event, I&#8217;ve nearly finished Imperial Hubris.
