I just noticed that C-Span has a links page for blogs. How is it that Cybercast News Service and Free Republic merit a listing under Individual\/Group Blogs<\/a>? I don’t see Democratic Underground<\/a> [Blog Box<\/a>] or AntiWar.Com<\/a> listed there, or AntiWar.com’s blog<\/a>, for that matter. And where is Lew Rockwell, site<\/a> or blog<\/a>, and Liberty & Power<\/a>, for starters?<\/p>\n

Browsing the Free Republic’s “blog<\/a>” link, which appears to be members posting items from blogs that aren’t theirs, I noticed they’re organising a march for April 7 to oppose the Democrats’ filibustering of Bush’s judicial nominations.<\/p>\n

The reason they state March for Justice II<\/a> is necessary (the first being their march to demand Clinton’s impeachment over lying about consensual, extra-marital sex) is because “we stand at the crossroad of what kind of judiciary we will have: One that is restrained by the Constitution, or one that abridges our rights by making it up as they go along.”<\/p>\n

They cheered<\/a>-on Republicans who threatened Democrats with filibusters. At least they’re not warning their leaders to be on the look-out for assassins<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Their blinkered reasoning is as deceptive as C-Span’s blog links are unfairly representative of a broad spectrum of opinion.<\/p>\n

\n“The president, whose approval ratings are down on almost every issue, has yet to sell the country on his plan for Social Security”<\/p>\n

Neutering the filibuster would be unpopular with Americans, nearly six in ten (57 percent) of whom would disapprove. Even one-third (33 percent) of Republicans say they would object to such a move.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
