Herold, RAWA, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rawa.org\/temp\/runews\/2009\/04\/12\/americaand-8217-s-afghan-war-the-real-world-versus-obamaand-8217-s-marketed-imagery.html\">12 April 2009<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOmission is the most powerful form of lie\u201d &#8211; George Orwell<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring a war, news should be given out for instruction rather than information\u201d &#8211; Joseph Goebbels<\/p>\n<p>On March 31, 2009, Jon Stewart in his \u201cDaily Show\u201d announced Commander-in-Chief Obama\u2019s mission of \u201cRedefinition Accomplished\u201d was in full swing.(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rawa.org\/temp\/runews\/2009\/04\/12\/americaand-8217-s-afghan-war-the-real-world-versus-obamaand-8217-s-marketed-imagery.html#note\">1<\/a>) A new Orwellian vocabulary more soothing and politically correct has been invented and marketed to the American citizenry by Obama. But as Peter Baker of the <em>New York Times<\/em> noted, \u201cfor all the shifting words, Mr. Obama has left the bulk of Bush\u2019s national security infrastructure intact so far.\u201d(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rawa.org\/temp\/runews\/2009\/04\/12\/americaand-8217-s-afghan-war-the-real-world-versus-obamaand-8217-s-marketed-imagery.html#note\">2<\/a>) In the real world, average Afghans and Pashtuns in the Pakistani border areas experience this continuing brutality daily as I shall now document, but Americans are largely oblivious remaining enthralled in the puffery of \u201cYes, We Can\u201d and \u201cChange We Can Believe In.\u201d The phrase \u201ccivilian casualties\u201d is non-existent in Obama\u2019s vocabulary as a search of Google reveals.
