When we truly come to know another person?s anguish, we are all moved by the spirit to help. <\/p>\n Americans have been hearing horrific statistics about the genocide in Sudan, but numbers alone are often not enough to touch the heart. The people of America need to meet the people of Darfur, in all their dignity and deep pain. We need personal interviews through which the people of Darfur can tell us their story. <\/p>\n That?s why, together with our friends at TrueMajority.org, we are raising funds to send a camera crew of three to the Sudanese border to broadcast live from the refugee camps via satellite. The people of Darfur will have an opportunity to appear directly on America?s news shows and talk shows. <\/p>\n Our crew is ready to leave this week, but we need to raise about $45,000 to make this happen. We have already sent over 50,000 messages to Congress and won unanimous resolutions condemning the genocide. But our government has not yet taken the actions called for.
