It describes itself as an &#8220;online wing of a powerful, new progressive faith movement, like the ones that fought for independence, abolition and civil rights.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Its honorary chairperson is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithfulamerica.org\/Coffin.htm\">William Sloane Coffin<\/a>.  Most people reading this will recognise Rev. Coffin as a man with a long history of applying the principles of his faith to political pressure points and bearing the mantle of radicalism as a result.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sojo.net\/\"><i>Sojourners<\/i><\/a>, linked by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithfulamerica.org\/Links.htm\">FaithfulAmerica.org site<\/a>, is presently carrying an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sojo.net\/index.cfm?action=magazine.article&#038;issue=soj0407&#038;article=040710\">interview with Wendell Berry<\/a> in which he eloquently remarks upon the difference between those who shop for faith and those that practice it in all aspects of their lives. <\/p>\n<p>While the organisation <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithfulamerica.org\/About.htm\">claims<\/a> to support separation of church and state it objects to what they call a separation of moral principles from politics.  In an effort to address the Bush administration&#8217;s failure to accept moral responsibility for its role in the torture scandal they&#8217;ve crafted a 30-second ad to air on Arab television.  A senior member of George&#8217;s own United Methodist Church, Bishop Melvin Talbert, endorses the campaign.   <\/p>\n<p>They are currently accepting donations for the <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/world\/americas\/3799241.stm\">ad that will run next week on Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.faithfulamerica.org\/adclip.htm\">can be viewed here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This website was set-up about a month ago.
