{"id":476,"date":"2004-04-29T21:40:31","date_gmt":"2004-04-30T01:40:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/karmalised.com\/wordpress\/?p=476"},"modified":"2004-04-29T21:40:31","modified_gmt":"2004-04-30T01:40:31","slug":"look-ma-no-hands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/karmalised.com\/?p=476","title":{"rendered":"Look ma, no hands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/poynter.org\/forum\/?id=misc\"><b>Sinclair stations won&#8217;t run &#8220;Nightline&#8221; tribute<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>NewsBlues.com is reporting [no free link] that Sinclair Broadcast Group has ordered its ABC-affiliated stations not to carry tomorrow&#8217;s &#8220;Nightline,&#8221; which will air the names and photos of soldiers who have been killed in combat in Iraq. <\/p>\n<p>Sinclair General Counsel Barry Faber tells the site: &#8220;We find it to be contrary to the public interest.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The boycott will affect eight ABC-affiliated Sinclair stations.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;ve never considered Koppel more than a gov&#8217;t salesman.  My guess is they did some polling and decided showing these pictures would generate some rabid support for the occupation.  If they truly wanted to show the &#8216;human face&#8217; they would also be broadcasting material such as this:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.informationclearinghouse.info\/article6099.htm\">&#8220;<b>This Is The Massacre, The Holocaust That We Are Seeing In Fallujah<\/b>&#8220;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madison.com\/captimes\/opinion\/column\/nichols\/73255.php\">Dick and Pony show is not suitable for the general public<\/a>, either? <\/p>\n<p>Aren&#8217;t you so fortunate to have these decisions taken completely out of your hands!<\/p>\n<p>Roll over and play dead for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.takeoneforthecountry.com\/index.asp\">laydees<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/lawrenceofcyberia.blogs.com\/news\/2004\/04\/karmalised.html\">germs<\/a>.
