I believe him. He <em>will<\/em> listen.    That&#8217;s the one important difference, I think, between the outgoing and incoming    administrations: George W. Bush would no sooner listen to ordinary Americans    when it comes to the conduct of foreign affairs than he&#8217;d consult with Congress    \u2013 i.e., <a href=\"http:\/\/www.consortiumnews.com\/2003\/040803a.html\">not at all<\/a> \u2013 whereas Obama\u2026 well, at least it&#8217;s possible, and <em>that <\/em>is one real big    change.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, then, listen up, Mr. President-elect, because I&#8217;ve got a few bones to    pick with you.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.miamiherald.com\/news\/politics\/AP\/story\/770082.html\">Republican<\/a> in charge of the Pentagon, a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/justin?articleid=13762\">pro-torture    anti-civil liberties<\/a> CIA chief, and now <a href=\"http:\/\/www.voanews.com\/english\/2008-11-16-voa17.cfm\">Hillary    Clinton<\/a> as secretary of state \u2013 is there any principle you&#8217;ve forgotten    to sell out?<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lewrockwell.com\/orig\/stromberg5.html\">my old friend<\/a> the late, great <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Man-Economy-State-Murray-Rothbard\/dp\/0945466323\/antiwarbookstore\">libertarian    economist<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/mises.org\/rothbard\/newlibertywhole.asp\">social    theorist<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lewrockwell.com\/rothbard\/rothbard33.html\">Murray    Rothbard<\/a> used to say: Are we to be spared <em>nothing<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p><strong>[<a href=\"http:\/\/www.antiwar.com\/justin\/?articleid=13774\">Read the article<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Justin Raimondo, Antiwar.com, 17 November 2008 In his victory speech, Barack Obama told us: &#8220;I will listen to you, especially when we disagree.&#8221; And, you know what?
