The Bush men have a plan to “change the world“; the DLC have none. The Bush men are driven by a triumphalist ideology; the DLC have their hands out. Why assume the Bush administration isn’t working behind the scenes to accomplish just that but don’t advertise it as the message isn’t one their base would appreciate unlike the left who seem to be okay with occupying a country so long as you flagrantly share the booty with your international allies? They referred to the Iraq occupation as “the first and probably most important test of our generational committment”…a “future course of American foreign policy” that will take decades to see fruition. The piece will appear in the upcoming September 16 issue of the magazine and is now available on the Weekly Standard’s website.

The article recounts the hawkish arguments that were put forward by leading Democrats for using military force against Saddam in 1998. Among the most hawkish, current Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle: “we are going to force, one way or another, diplomatically or militarily, Iraq to comply with international law.” In addition, there was wide support for the congressional resolution calling on “the president to take all necessary and appropriate actions to respond to the threat posed by Iraq’s refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs.” According to Hayes, co-sponsors of the resolution included Senators Pat Leahy, Chris Dodd, John Kerry and Chuck Hagel.

John Kerry will do nothing more than carry on the neoconservative tradition.

Aiding the installation of yet another war profiteer into the White House won’t change the dynamics of the course this nation has been on since we invaded the Phillipines.

When will enough finally be enough?

Kerry’s DLC versus The Pirates: After three years of Republican rule, it is madness to say that John Kerry’s DLC rump of the Democratic Party is even remotely equivalent to the rampaging Bush regime.
