Last week I read a scathing critique <\/a>of journalists who’ve come to rely solely upon search engines for their fact checking.<\/p>\n

I don’t mean to pick on Slate<\/i> but wouldn’t it have made more sense to go to the NYT<\/i>‘s archive<\/a> than Nexis for this particular search<\/a>?<\/p>\n

An op-ed in the NYT<\/i><\/a> argues that since Israel’s security barrier goes deep into the West Bank it’s a less than ideal security barrier: “What this wall is really doing is taking Palestinian lands.” That’s not an original argument but the author is: Noam Chomsky. Judging by a quickie Nexis search, it’s the first time the linguist and super-critic of U.S. policy has had his byline in the paper.<\/div>\n

On another note it appears Feedroll<\/a> is having problems and I’ve no time to investigate. Hoping the news links will be back.<\/p>\n
