{"id":2995,"date":"2008-03-13T14:16:15","date_gmt":"2008-03-13T20:16:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/karmalised.com\/?p=2995"},"modified":"2008-03-13T14:22:20","modified_gmt":"2008-03-13T20:22:20","slug":"expressions-of-al-nakba-and-the-untold-stories-of-nakba","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/karmalised.com\/?p=2995","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Expressions of Al-Nakba&#8221; and The &#8220;Untold Stories&#8221; of Nakba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/expressionsofnakba.org\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/karmalised.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/03\/nakba_strip-450-x-96.jpg?w=640\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.endtheoccupation.org\/\">US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation<\/a> announcement<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>The year 2008 marks the  60th anniversary of the <em>Nakba<\/em> (&#8220;the catastrophe&#8221;): the expulsion and dispossession of  hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their homes and land in  1948.<\/p>\n<p>The US  Campaign is soliciting entries for a commemoration of the Nakba through personal  expressions in the form of visual arts, essays, poetry, music, video and digital  media at: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/expressionsofnakba.org\">http:\/\/expressionsofnakba.org<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/expressionsofnakba.org\">Expressions of  Al-Nakba<\/a>&#8221; is an international competition which seeks to present the extraordinary narrative of a  dispossessed people through a diverse range of expressions that interpret the  collective identity, historic struggle, and emotional experience of the Nakba  for Palestinians.
