A person is chosen regularly for being an innovator in the field of Internet politics, for their hard work and consistent expertise in politics and technology, or for their dedication as frequent contributing editors at <strong><font color=\"#2e2ba0\">Politics<\/font><font color=\"#009900\">Online<\/font><\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When conflicts erupted in Kenya after the elections, many fingers pointed at the newspapers and radio as the sources of hatred and fanning the fires of tribal hatred that have been lit over time. None focussed much on blogs and online forums. But it has proved that even online forums have been breeding grounds for war mongers.<\/p>\n<p>Mashada forum, Kenya&#8217;s first online chat room was forced to close after discussions got out of control. White Africa reports about his shock:<\/p>\n<p>As you may already know, I\u2019ve been having quite a problem regulating <a href=\"http:\/\/Mashada.com\">Mashada.com<\/a>, despite having recently hired people to moderate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mashada.com\/forums\/\">the forums<\/a>*. It is starting to become a reflection of what is going on on the ground in Kenya. I\u2019d hate for it to hinder our current efforts since I\u2019m directly connected to it, therefore I\u2019m having to shut down the forums until further notice.
