Meron Benvenisti served as Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem under Teddy Kollek from 1971 to 1978, administering the city\u2019s annexed Palestinian sectors. In 1982, he established and directed the West Bank Database Project, one of the first attempts to gather comprehensive data on Israeli settlement and governmental policies in the West Bank.
