{"id":16231,"date":"2011-10-19T07:45:35","date_gmt":"2011-10-19T13:45:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/karmalised.com\/?p=16231"},"modified":"2011-10-19T07:45:35","modified_gmt":"2011-10-19T13:45:35","slug":"justin-raimondo-the-sins-of-liam-fox","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/karmalised.com\/?p=16231","title":{"rendered":"Justin Raimondo: The Sins of Liam Fox"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The \u201cprivatization\u201d of British foreign policy<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Posts by Justin Raimondo\" href=\"http:\/\/original.antiwar.com\/author\/justin\/\" rel=\"author\">Justin Raimondo<\/a>, October 19, 2011<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The forced <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/politics\/2011\/oct\/15\/liam-fox-resignation-conservatives?newsfeed=true\">resignation<\/a> of Britain\u2019s defense minister, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liamfox.co.uk\/text.aspx?id=4\">Liam Fox<\/a>, has opened up a window into the way foreign policy in the \u201cfree world\u201d is made \u2013 and a very revealing window it is.<\/p>\n<p>At the center of the scandal that led to Fox\u2019s ouster is his \u201cbest man,\u201d and \u201cvery good friend\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/news\/politics-news\/2011\/10\/16\/mp-demands-fraud-inquiry-into-liam-fox-over-scandal-that-forced-him-out-of-cabinet-86908-23492528\/\">Adam Werritty<\/a>, a 33-year-old man-about-town who went around handing out business cards informing recipients that the bearer was an \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-2047217\/Liam-Fox-admits-Adam-Werritty-18-trips-overseas-visited-MoD-22-times.html\">adviser<\/a>\u201d to Fox, although he held no such official title. In reality, however, Werritty was (and is) far closer to Fox than any of his official advisors: they met, apparently, when Werritty was a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.telegraph.co.uk\/news\/newstopics\/mps-expenses\/conservative-mps-expenses\/8817267\/Liam-Fox-and-Adam-Werritty-an-unlikely-friendship.html\">mere teenager<\/a> in the Young Conservative organization, and have been virtually inseparable ever since. So inseparable that young Werrity met Fox at dozens of locations throughout the world, from Dubai to Israel, when the defense minister was on official business: they traveled together, as if they were a married couple (not that there\u2019s anything wrong with that).
