{"id":15706,"date":"2011-06-23T16:37:14","date_gmt":"2011-06-23T22:37:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/karmalised.com\/?p=15706"},"modified":"2011-06-23T16:37:14","modified_gmt":"2011-06-23T22:37:14","slug":"israel-proves-that-flotillas-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/karmalised.com\/?p=15706","title":{"rendered":"Israel Proves that Flotillas Work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>For Immediate Release<br \/>\nJune 24, 2011<\/p>\n<p>Israel Proves that Flotillas Work<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Israel\u2019s announcement of authorization for construction materials for 1,200 homes and 18 schools in Gaza is the latest achievement by the Freedom Flotilla, scheduled to sail next week.  <\/p>\n<p>In the weeks leading up to the flotilla, Israel has taken a number of steps to try to address the concerns raised in the public eye by the Freedom Flotilla 2 \u2013 Stay Human initiative. However organizers say that these steps are symbolic at best, fall far short of Israel\u2019s obligations under international law, are insufficient to meet the needs of Palestinians in Gaza, and are fundamentally designed to maintain the occupation and system of control that Israel exerts over Palestinian lives.
