A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/world\/2010\/may\/31\/israel-kills-activists-flotilla-gaza\">flotilla of relief boats attacked in\u00a0international waters<\/a>.  Armed commandos boarding a vessel carrying supplies for a\u00a0besieged  civilian population. More than 10\u00a0peace activists reported killed. This  has to be made to count.<\/p>\n<p>The dead have joined <a title=\"Rachel Corrie memorial  website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rachelcorrie.org\/\">Rachel Corrie<\/a>, <a title=\"Tom Hurndall memorial website\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tomhurndall.co.uk\/\">Tom Hurndall<\/a>, <a title=\"Guardian: C4 cameraman killed in Gaza\" href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/media\/2003\/may\/03\/middleeastthemedia.television\">James Miller<\/a> and <a title=\"Wikipedia: Brian  Avery\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Brian_Avery\">Brian Avery<\/a> in giving up their lives for the Palestinians.  None of these young men and women went out to die or wanted to\u00a0die or  was accepting of death. Each and every one of them ultimately believed  that they were safe; that there was a boundary \u2013 call it a boundary of  legality, a boundary of civilisation \u2013 that\u00a0Israel would not cross. They  were wrong.
