Emergency Demonstrations to Protest Israeli Massacre of Gaza Aid Convoy<\/strong><\/p>\n

Washington, D.C. at 3:00 pm<\/strong> <\/strong>Israeli Embassy 3514 International Dr. NW (near Van Ness and Reno Rd.)<\/p>\n

New York City at 3:00 pm<\/strong> <\/strong>Times Square 44th Street & 7th Avenue<\/p>\n

Los Angeles at 4:30 pm<\/strong> <\/strong>Israeli Consulate 6380 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles (Between Crescent Heights and San Vicente)<\/p>\n

Organizations and individuals are organizing for\u00a0emergency protests taking place in Washington, DC, and around the country\u00a0to denounce the Israeli military massacre of activists on a Gaza aid convoy. Israel has killed at least 19 international activists, with dozens injured. The death toll may rise.<\/p>\n

According to a Free Gaza Team report, filed from Cyprus, June 1, 2010, 6:30 am: \u201cUnder darkness of night, Israeli commandoes dropped from a helicopter onto the Turkish passenger ship, Mavi Marmara<\/em>, and began to shoot the moment their feet hit the deck. They fired directly into the crowd of civilians asleep.\u201d<\/p>\n

Streaming Al Jazeera video shows the Israeli soldiers shooting at civilians. The attack happened in international waters, 75 miles off the coast of Israel, in direct violation of international law. The Gaza aid convoy was attacked in international waters by 14 Israeli ships. Heavily armed Israeli commandos dropped onto the ships from helicopters and opened fire on the activists, who had raised a white flag. The Israeli government is now, predictably, claiming the unarmed ship was coming to support terror, al-Qaeda and Hamas. Israel also claims the Gazans don\u2019t need aid.<\/p>\n

The Free Gaza Movement\u2019s freedom flotilla of eight ships\u2014carrying more than 500 international activists and 10,000 tons of construction material and humanitarian aid for the besieged 1.5 million residents of the Gaza Strip\u2014is now sailing under military escort to Israel.<\/p>\n
