{"id":12152,"date":"2009-12-20T19:45:50","date_gmt":"2009-12-21T00:45:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/karmalised.com\/?p=12152"},"modified":"2009-12-24T16:38:14","modified_gmt":"2009-12-24T22:38:14","slug":"ian-black-israel-admits-harvesting-palestinian-organs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/karmalised.com\/?p=12152","title":{"rendered":"Doctor admits Israeli pathologists harvested organs without consent"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Ian Black, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/\">guardian.co.uk<\/a>, 20 December 2009<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Israel has admitted that pathologists harvested organs from dead Palestinians, and others without the consent of their families \u2013 a practice that it said ended in the 1990s, it emerged at the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The admission, by the former head of the country&#8217;s forensic institute, followed a furious row prompted by a Swedish newspaper reporting that Israel was killing Palestinians in order to use their organs \u2013 a charge that Israel denied and called &#8220;antisemitic&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The revelation, in a <a title=\"television documentary\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mako.co.il\/news-israel\/health\/Article-2f068ab0353a521004.htm\">television documentary<\/a>, is likely to generate anger in the Arab and Muslim world and reinforce sinister stereotypes of Israel and its attitude to Palestinians.
