It may show up there yet; I&#8217;ve sent it to the blog editor and left it up to him.  The article is a colourful argument against &#8220;Twitbook&#8221; and demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin, the blog editor, concluded:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Finally, draw a line in the sand. Don\u2019t tell anyone where that line is, or what the consequences will be if it\u2019s crossed. Don\u2019t wave a sign about it. Don\u2019t twitbook about it. Let the fascists figure it out the hard way.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Yet Kevin maintains this blog on which he draws lines on any number of subjects including the topic in question.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Certainly, text messaging has its uses in organising, alerting, and filling a media void during demonstrations.  If it wasn&#8217;t effective then states wouldn&#8217;t bother to block the signals or use this method of communication to their advantage.<\/p>\n<p>The cycle of buying permits in order to wave signs and chant robotically is frustrating; a demonstration is little more than a parade that feeds the machine if permitted.  No less mind boggling are militant initiatives and random acts of destruction followed by frantic pleas on behalf of the actors to be bailed out of jail.  Way to hurt the state!<\/p>\n<p>But what would be so bat-shit crazy about non-permitted, mass demonstrations?
