The Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) releases today a new report on the “Illegal Closure of the Gaza Strip: Collective Punishment of the Civilian Population”.
The absolute closure of Gaza was imposed by Israel following the Hamas takeover in June 2007.For more than three years and a half, this most extreme form of closure has been continuously applied to the so-called “hostile entity” that is the Gaza Strip, cutting off 1.7 million individuals from the outside world.

Wise interviewed on new report: “Subsidizing Inequality”
Timothy A. Wise was interviewed by The Real News Network on his recent policy brief, “The impacts of U.S. agricultural policies on Mexican producers,” which appears as part of the report, “Subsidizing Inequality: Mexican Corn Policy Since NAFTA.” The report, recently released in English by the Mexico Institute at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, will be presented at the center January 18.

SEATTLE – “Israeli War Crimes,” the enormous advertisement reads. “Your tax dollars at work.”
To the right of the image is a group of children — one little boy stares out at the viewer, the others gawk at a demolished building, all rebar and crumbled concrete.
It’s an ad you’ll be seeing soon on a handful of Metro buses in downtown Seattle.
