Come to court for the SF8 – Thurs. 12/3

Francisco Torres has a court date scheduled Thursday, 12/3 at 9am, 850 Bryant Street.

It is expected that a date will be set to hear the motion to dismiss charges against Cisco Torres as well as a date for the preliminary hearing.

Cisco may or may not be  present, but it is important that we be a presence for every court date to show that we are watching and that community support is powerful.

Obama Writes to Brazil€’s Leader About Iran

On Honduras, Mr. Obama justified American support for a presidential election there after the ouster of President Manuel Zelaya in June. Mr. Obama said in his letter that the situation would ‘start from zero’ after the election, the Brazilian official said.

Brazil is opposed to the election, which is scheduled for Sunday, saying that it is inappropriate in light of Mr. Zelaya€’s ouster, which Brazil and much of the world have labeled a coup.

Feministas en Resistencia was born on the same day as the coup, June 28, when a large number of women gathered at the home of the president to protest the coup. Although they were driven away with bullets and tear gas, they returned to meet again the following day, outraged at what had happened. The various feminist organizations joined together immediately and began to call themselves Feministas en Resistencia. They then joined the National Resistance Front (Frente Nacional de Resistencia) against the coup.
