I know I am but what are you?

Dean Barnett loves his piece appearing in the neoconservative echo chamber Weekly Standard, in which he ponders why blogs on the right, including Instapundit, have not recouped a post-election slide in daily visits while the Daily Kos has “rebounded” and “left” the “right-blogosphere in the dust”. He tells the “Kossacks” at DK the Weekly Standard‘s recurring interest in their trivial popularity is not bourne from fear and foretells election-day ruin for the Democrat party if they adopt DK denizens’ “food fight” mentality.

One of Barnett’s theories for this disparity is that “conservative blogs remain for the most part virtual op-ed columns (with the notable exception of Charles Johnson’s Little Green Footballs)”. When some of Johnson’s “Electoral-Based” regulars took offense to this comparison to the clearly out-of-touch DK’ers, Barnett rushed there and posted a sickeningly sweet mash note, coquettishly benighting the place a “national treasure”.

Gag me with a spoon, Comrade!

Barnett is right about one thing. Antiwar Leftists seeking camaraderie at Daily Kos are begging to be the exploited orphans of the DLC establishment, suckling the left tit of breast beating Karl Rove’s neoconservative boob job.

Norman Solomon has drawn the only line in the sand that matters.

Solomon and Blumenthal are talking about very different things, and so past eachother, and exactly what they’re talking about is so intertwined I can’t determine what the particular difference is. But I’ll give it a shot anyway: B is focused on winning a particular gang war, and not terribly interested in anything besides that, let alone Iraq. Solomon is a student of history, and opposing each encroaching minute of each disasterous page. Where’s the real disagreement?

The Dems drove the get away car and seek immunity from prosecution. They can’t even promise to drive the straight and narrow if they get it. They should let Fitzgerald do his job and hide their dirty heads in shame instead of mucking up the waters with faux indignation.
